ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Rising Star programme is a 12 week training and work placement at Pret. You will learn all aspects of working in a Pret shop, starting in the kitchen doing food production, progressing on to serving customers and learning what it takes to be a Barista. After 12 weeks, there is the potential to be offered a permanent part-time or full-time role. This is considered on a case by case basis and dependent on your engagement on the programme, your availability, location and vacancies available.
Since 2008, Pret has placed over 600 Rising Stars into Pret shops, with 80% completing the 12-week programme and going on to become Barista's, Hot Chefs, Team Leaders and Managers! Full training is available and no experience is necessary.
It can be hard work but it's so much fun. There can be early starts, long days on your feet and busy shops, but if you want a challenge and are prepared to work hard then you can go far. We will be there every step of the way with you on your journey, helping you to thrive and succeed.

The Process
Once you've been referred by your Employment Advisor, we'll invite you to an interview where you will have the opportunity to talk about your transferable skills and experience and hear more about the programme.
If we think you are ready for the12 week programme (and you like what you see so far), you will be invited to a two hour shop experience, giving you the opportunity to understand the Pret culture a bit more. After a chat with the Shop Manager, you will shadow the Kitchen and Front of House team.
You will be required to show eligibility to work in the UK before attending your Shop Experience. You can speak to your Employment Advisor or Case Worker for guidance. You will agree your shift patterns for the 12 week programme with your manager when you start.
